I have been seeing a ton of flocked Christmas trees this year, they are literally all the rave. At first, I was considering buying one until I realized that I have a perfectly fine Christmas tree at home. I turned to Pinterest and found that you can flock your own Christmas tree and instead of spending $150-$400 on a new flocked Christmas tree, I spent less than $35. The bonus is that you get to control the amount of snow flock that you apply. I kept finding trees that were so flocked that they were pretty much white, and I wasn't a fan. In other words, I didn't want a blizzard on my tree, I wanted a snow dusting. What you'll need to flock your Christmas tree: SnoFlock // amazon spray bottle // target strainer // target Although, it is recommended to do this outside or in a garage, as it is a bit messy. I did it in my kitchen and put white paper on the floor and the clean up honestly wasn't too bad. I bought the 2 lb bag and used almost half of it. For reference, our tree is seven and a half feet tall. A little flock goes a long way! Here is a before photo of my tree.

Once you have everything to flock your tree, you'll need to lightly mist the Christmas tree with water. This will help the snow flock stick to the tree. You'll then fill your strainer up with the snow flock and shake the strainer to release onto section of the tree. Last, but not least you'll need to spray the flocked section with water again. Continue these steps on all sections of the tree and voilà you now have a beautiful flocked Christmas tree. Now the hard part, waiting for your tree to dry. It takes anywhere between 24-48 hours for the snow flock to dry depending on how much snow flock you applied. However, if you're impatient like me, you'll move it and decorate after 20 hours. I just couldn't wait! I learned my lesson, though. I had to vacuum 3 times while decorating the tree.

I put my beaded garland up prior to flocking. I felt like it would make a mess if I tried putting it on afterwards and I wanted the garland to have snow flock on it, it would look more natural that way. Overall, I am very happy with the outcome.

Here is the final product!
