I officially started Christmas decorating last weekend, but I didn't want to write this post until I knew everything was done, which is nearly impossible for me. I don't know about you, but I never really stop Christmas decorating. I start out with my Christmas containers at home and then next thing I know, I'm somehow in the middle of Home Goods with a cart full of new holiday decor. If I'm being honest, I was shopping the Christmas decor and wrapping paper after Christmas last year. It is actually funny because when I starting dating my husband, he said that he didn't want to be "those" people. You know, those people who have a room dedicated to seasonal decor. Well, surprise, surprise! We are totally "those" people. My husband and I live in a split level home, so we don't have a real entryway. With that being said, the space is rather small, so I try to keep the furniture and decor to a minimum. This didn't stop me from adding in some faux greenery to get into the holiday spirit, though! I wanted to do something different, so I added a wreath on the back of the door and I honestly love how it looks. I found a double sided door hanger on amazon, too.
One of my favorite little finds for this space was my little black lantern house and guess what? It was only $3 in Targets Bulls Eye Playground. I can't find it online, but next time you go to Target, they are in that little dollar section right when you walk in. They come in silver, too!

I got this welcome sign from Home Goods sometime last year, so I can't link it, but I did link something similar. I got this faux garland from Michaels and it was on sale for only $10. I love that it has a little sparkle to it! Although, I won't lie. My floors are covered in that stuff, but at least it's pretty, right? It makes the dog hair on my floors look a little more glamorous.

I was really excited this year because we finally furnished our downstairs living area, so I got to decorate two living spaces for Christmas, which gave me the excuse to do even more holiday shopping and I even bought a second smaller Christmas tree.
I got this Christmas tree from Target during their sale last weekend and I originally bought a tree skirt for it but I just wasn't in love with the look. I wanted to do something a little more rustic, as I felt it would tie in with this space better. I ended up finding this crate at Lucketts and it was only $14 dollars so long story short, I returned the tree skirt. I did have to trim the legs of the tree stand in order to fit in the crate, though. I actually can't take the credit though, my husband trimmed the legs. I just supervised. :)

One of my favorite finds for this room are these beautiful live edge candle sticks. They were kind of a splurge, as the large candle holder was $59 and the smaller candle holder was $39, but I felt like the live edge made them really unique. I bought them from Lucketts last weekend, which by the way if you have not been to Lucketts and you live in the Northern Virginia area, you must go! They have just about everything ranging from home decor to jewelry and right now their design house is beautifully decorated for the holidays and EVERYTHIING in the house is for sale. If you're looking for some Christmas inspiration, Lucketts is where you will find it!

A few simple touches and just like that, Christmas has arrived! Please let me know if you would like links to anything. I plan to do a separate blog post after the holidays with the links to everything so you can shop. I will be sharing more holiday decor in the next few weeks, so come back again! xoxo kristina
